Alcoa, Tenn. Resident Shoots Net 70 to Become the First Back-to-Back Champion

September 2, 2011, Murrells Inlet, S.C. – Bobby Perkinson, a 75 years-of-age retiree of Alcoa, Tenn., shot a net 70 (gross 74) on Friday to win the 2011 GOLF.com World Amateur Handicap Championship at TPC Myrtle Beach. Perkinson becomes the first back-to-back winner of the world’s largest amateur golf tournament and the first two-time winner in the 28-year history of the event. Perkinson scored a net birdie on the final hole to win by one stroke over three players including Steve Greer of Centerville, Ala. and two international players, Matthew Armstrong and Trevor Hillier from Australia.

Glove It, LLC signs LPGA Futures Player Fiamma Felitch to Golf Belles Quests Team

Tempe, Ariz., August 12, 2011 LPGA Futures Tour player Fiamma Felitch signs with  ‘Team Glove It,  the Golf Belles Women’s Golf Empowerment’ Quest Team, as she prepares for Stage 2 of the LPGA Q-School this fall.

Felitch, 22, of Oklahoma, attended the University of Tulsa, 2007 regional and state champion, Oklahoman player of the year, and all state.  She made her debut on the tour circuit in June 2010 at the Texas Women’s Open and earning her full playing privileges on the LPGA Duramed Futures Tour on Valentine’s Day (February 14) 2011. While attending the University of Tulsa, Felitch received the ‘Conference USA Commissioner's Honour Roll’ accolade for 2007/2008 academic year and competed successfully on the university’s women’s golf team.
